Cathodic Protection (CP) system is an extremely cost effective means of reducing or eliminate corrosion. This system can prevent corrosion occurring in new structures and mitigate corrosion indefinitely on a retrofit of existing structures. With our comprehensive range of product and hands on experiences we can identify the most suitable CP system and provide solution for every specific condition.
Wilson Walton Indonesia provides turn key services from Site Survey, Design engineering, installation up to commissioning. In case of existing systems already exist we do maintaining, monitoring and upgrading the system. As part of monitoring, Close Interval Survey (CIS) and Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG), and Current Requirement Test may require periodically. Our on hand experiences, expertise and latest technology and equipment will be available to serve our customers.
As part of services we do also CP upgrading and refurbishment or retrofit. This scope will help customer to increase current requirement due to additional structure interconnection with existing structure protected, or because of existing system depletion due to aging structure.
After Cathodic Protection System is installed, regular Voltage reading must be done through Test Point connection. However, due to un uniform soil resistivity Close Interval Survey (CIS) is strongly recommended to be applied, to make sure all along the pipeline is cathodically protected. CIS will produce detail voltage report of every 1-1.5 m point along the line, so that any anomalies will be detectable before stimulate bigger problem in corrosion.
For majority aging pipeline CIS operation will be complementary continued by Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) application, especially in extremely low potential (below -800 mV). DCVG is applied for suspected coating damage along the pipeline low potentials reading. As recommended practices some bell hole may be necessary to make sure DCVG report correctly.
